What's happening at Ayr Citadel?
The Salvation Army seeks to put its beliefs into action. Here at Ayr we do this by trying to impact our community with the love of God in practical ways.

From emergency food parcels, to referring people on to professional care organisations and organising beach games for young people, the breadth of our ministries is as diverse as the community we serve.

We all love God and reach out with His love, seeking to make a difference in the lives of the members of our community. The Bible says that Jesus came to “bring good news to the poor … proclaim liberty to the captives … recovery of sight to the blind … set free the oppressed …” (Luke 4:18ff). We seek to be part of this good news!
It's the taking part that counts 2

Do you want to help make a difference?
You can help us help others. We are reliant upon donations to allow our outreach to continue, both from members of the Salvation Army and members of the public. Each year we are amazed by the generosity of many who donate to the Salvation Army. If you would like to help particularly with this ministry, please send your donation to: The Salvation Army, 42 Sycamore Crescent, Ayr KA7 3NS.

Community outreach – Christmas 2008
Ayr Round Table and Strathclyde Police made sizable donations of tinned goods which we were able to distribute to homeless and needy folk in South Ayrshire. 240 Christmas dinners were distributed to the local homeless hostels and many local residents were helped with emergency food parcels. To keep this going, we rely on your support.

Beach activities – Summer 2008
Some people may view churchgoers as a bit boring and detached from ordinary life. Over the summer months, our congregation organises a variety of community events which seek to rekindle community spirit. As well as organising a 10k walk along the sea front, football, volleyball and badminton in local parks, we also organised a number of sandcastle competitions and games days on Ayr and Prestwick beaches. Look out for details coming soon of our summer activities for 2009. Sandcastle comp winners 2
